Smokey was my Godfather .Growing up I have many great memories . Everytime a firetruck went down my street I was running out front to see if it was him. If it was him he always hit the horn so I knew. I remember my dad taking me over to the house almost every Sunday Smokey and my dad would enjoy an adult beverage while I enjoyed a bowl of sauerbraten which thanks to Mr and Mrs Lesnau I still love it to this day. When I was in 2nd grade smokey arranged a tour of the new firehouse on Shuart for my my class .I also remember Christmas Eve waiting for the Lesnaus to come over after the Decourseys left their house I could go on and on with so many memories such as taking Rusty for walks and going to watch Joanne play basketball at Grimes then later when Niagara played here at Manley field house. Although I haven't seen Smokey or Mary in many years they both were a huge part of my life growing up and I will think of them often. Sincerely Dan Korszeniewski

To Cathy and all the family:
Your Dad was such a kind and thoughtful person!
While we were in nursing school, I came to your house for some unremembered project. During that visit, the rearview mirror fell off my car. Your Dad knew exactly what to do and glued it back on. He refused to take anything for it and I was deeply grateful. He was a Very kind man and Im sorry for your loss.

Ed, Cathy, Joanne, Martha and Families,
I was sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Mr. Lesnau was a good generous man. I still remember him teaching a few of us boys how to make layups at the Pastimes gym. And it was always good to see him with the rest of the crew up at Pillar Point during those long summers. My deepest condolences to you all.
