Obituary of Alice Mary Shaffer

Alice Mary Shaffer passed away on May 12, 2024, in her hometown of Syracuse, New York. Born on July 16, 1938 to Daniel and Mildred Henn, Alice was a cherished member of the Syracuse-area community, where she was born and raised and continued to enrich the lives of those around her.
Alice Henn graduated from Syracuse Central High School in 1956.  Alice was a member of the Philomathean Society, the Spanish Club (President), and the bowling and volleyball teams.  Prior to meeting her husband, Alice provided data security services in the insurance industry.
In 1967, Alice married the love of her life, Robert Shaffer, in a beautiful ceremony at St. John The Baptist Church in Syracuse. The couple spent their entire lives together in the Syracuse area, living in Baldwinsville for 43 years and the last decade in Liverpool.
Alice’s favorite activities included international travel, learning about art, collecting figurines, her tight relationships with her circle of friends, enjoying the couple’s cats, and more recently watching HGTV.
Alice was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Mildred.  She is survived by her husband Robert; her brother-in-law George, and her nephew Marc (Bernice) and his family.
The services to honor Alice’s life where friends and family can share memories will be held on May 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, located at 3111 James Street, Syracuse, NY. Alice will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse.  No funeral services will be held at the grave site.

Alice Mary Shaffer will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, aunt, and friend.  She will be deeply missed.
