Obituary of William J. Kiggins

William J. Kiggins, 77, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in "comfort care" at Upstate Community Hospital.  Following a long bout with Cancer, Bill finally threw in the towel.  He attended St. Anthony of Padua and graduated from Cathedral Academy in Syracuse. He was a member of the Army National Guard stationed in Liverpool, NY.  He was employed by Niagara Mohawk as a Chief Line Mechanic for many years and proudly served as a Union Steward for IBEW Local Union 79.  He played basketball and later became a H.S. Referee.  He enjoyed fishing with his brothers and many rounds of golf with his buddies.  
He was predeceased by his parents: Charles L. and Mary M. (Burke) Kiggins, and brother Charles W. Kiggins.
Survived by his daughter Alison (Clay) Johnston; son Aaron (Jessica) Kiggins; grand children: Cassidy, Reece and Addison Johnston and Thomas, Elliot and Burke Kiggins of Charlotte NC; brother Russell J. (Donna) Kiggins of Syracuse; sister-in-law JoAnne Kiggins of North Syracuse; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 13 at 10:30am at the Church of his Baptism, St. Patrick’s, Lowell Avenue, Syracuse.  Friends may greet the family from 9:30-10:30 before the mass in Church.
