William J. “Bill” Clancy, 91, of East Syracuse, died on March 12, 2024 at Menorah Park. He was a veteran of the US Army and had retired from the Herald Journal & Post Standard after 47 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, attending musical theater and traveling, especially to NY, Toronto and the Adirondacks. Bill loved attending NY Yankees games and always appreciated a great steak dinner.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Leonard and Ethel Clancy; brother Michael and sister Betty Heinrich.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary; daughter Joanne (Ken) Andrews; sons: Mike (Therese), Tom (Cheryl); 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 11am in St. Matthew’s Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 10-11am before the mass in Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Matthew’s Food Pantry.
