Donald F. Grabosky Obituary

Donald Francis Grabosky, 89, of Eastwood, passed peacefully in his home on Monday. Donald was a lifetime resident of Syracuse. Donald was born in Lyncourt to William and Christine (Bamberger) Grabosky. After completing High School, Donald served in the United States Marine Corps. Donald had a long career in hotel management working for 37 years at the Hotel Syracuse. Donald was a lifetime member of the International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA). Donald was also a past president of the IFSEA and served on many international committees for the organization. Donald married his beloved wife Margaret in 1967. They would enjoy 35 years of marriage before Margaret’s passing in 2002. Donald enjoyed spending time with his extended family at holidays, picnics, weddings, and dinners. Donald was an avid reader and an intelligent man who could converse on almost any subject. Donald was a kind man who had a great sense of humor. Donald is survived by his sister-in-laws Katherine Morse, Pamela Grabosky, Barbara Grabosky, Elizabeth Grabosky and brother-in-law Michael Milin. Donald is also survived by his niece and caregiver Rosanne Colella, in addition to, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his wife Margaret, his brothers William, Francis (Joe), Frederick, Henry and his sister Helen.

Calling hours will be held at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home at 9am on Friday February 16th followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church in Eastwood. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park immediately following the funeral mass.
