Obituary of Suzanne G. Higgins

Suzanne (Amlott) Higgins, 83, of East Syracuse, died on February 5, 2024 with her daughters by her side.
She was born in Syracuse on August 16, 1940, the daughter of the late George and Hilda Amlott.  Suzanne grew up in Eastwood and lived in DeRuyter for the past 20 years. The last 2 year living in East Syracuse with the care of her daughters. Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, great grandmother & great great grandmother. She was a cocktail waitress for many years at Nestico’s Restaurant.  She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts.  Suzanne was an active member of the DAR and the Red Hat Society.  Suzanne enjoyed and looked forward to hosting Tuesday Ladies Lunch days for years with her sisters and close friends.  She enjoyed bowling and working at her daughter’s business, the Sub Factory.  In the winter months, she enjoyed spending time in Florida with her sister.  She loved crafting, gardening, and had her own small business on EBay.
Suzanne is pre-deceased by her husband Richard, daughter Sherrie, son Richard, granddaughter Megan, her brothers: Donald, Howard, Jimmy, sisters: Jean, Judy and sister-in-law Shirley, nephew Jay.
Suzanne is survived by her Loving dog Trina. Brothers George (Sue) Edward & William Amlott. Daughters Kimberly McGregor, Donna Higgins; grandchildren: David (Nanette), Stacy (Ben), Jimmy, Cody; great grandchildren: David, Caitlin; great-great-grandson Ryder; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 13 from 11am-1pm with a service at the conclusion at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery.
