Michel Mantzakos Obituary
Michel Mantzakos, 96, of Syracuse, died on December 10, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He traveled from his native Greece with his family in 1969 to the United States. Michael had retired from Syracuse China and formerly worked for VW in Germany and as a coal miner in Belgium. He was a member of St. Sophia’s Church and a member of AHEPA.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Dimitri and Joanne Gomesi Mantzakos and brother George.
Michel is survived by his wife of 66 years, Katina (Kefallinos) Mantzakos; son James; grandchildren: Michael and Katherine; and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11am in St. Sophia’s Church and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 10-11am in the Church.
