Edith M. Read 85, formerly of Syracuse passed away Sunday at home in Sanford, North Carolina with her family by her side. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Edith was predeceased by her husband Robert Read in 1992. She is survived by her children: Robert (Barbara) Read of MA, George Read of WI, David Read (fiancee` Chris Hickey) of Syracuse, Sharon (Robert) Barney of NC, Keith (Deborah) Read of NC and Kevin (Vicky) Read of FL; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, September 25, at 8:30am in Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and 9am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 24 from 5-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer Association of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street Syracuse, NY 13204
