Obituary of Russell H. Adams Jr.

Please share a memory of Russell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Russell H. Adams, Jr., 60 of Eastwood, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at his home.  Russ was a lifelong resident of Eastwood, and he worked for Time Warner Cable as a Technician for 26 years.

Russ was predeceased by his parents Marsha (Lamb) and Russell Adams Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Nanette A (Navagh) Adams of 25 years.  Sons, Christopher Lawrence, Benjamin Lawrence and Kyle Adams; grandsons, Benjamin, Jr., and Hendrix; siblings Joseph (Marianne) Adams, Deborah (Charles) Patterson, Colleen (Raymond) Ryan and Shannon (James) Farley; and Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Russ was born to be an athlete and to be involved in the sports world.  He played baseball growing up while enjoying his dad as his and his brother Joe’s Coach.  He was a diehard Minesota Viking fan and loved the NY Yankees.  He loved to spend his time with family and friends at sporting events and parties, but mostly liked hanging out at home.  He devoted his life to his kids; one biological, and two from a previous marriage of Nanette’s. THAT did not matter to Russ, because they were a part of his wife which was his soul mate.  If he had to step up and coach one of the sports the kid was in at the time, he did it!   He would get the rule books and read them to make sure he was fair to the kids, coaches and organization of a particular sport, which included Little League Baseball, CYO Basketball, and his favorite, Football.

Russ volunteered for many years for the Eastwood Bears Pop Warner Football Organization, which two of the boys had played.  He didn’t just want to watch, he got involved as a parent.  He marked the fields, transported kids, got on the board of directors, as Seargent at Arms, and his favorite, was being Coach Adams.  He was such a good coach!!  He was fair, honest, and determined. He wouldn’t even give his own son special treatment. He cared about winning the right way, with integrity.

Russ was a very loving Husband and Father and could not do enough for the ones he loved.  Russ was an avid outdoorsman and an awesome provider.  He loved spending time fishing and camping in the Adirondacks, where one of his sons’ live. This great man, helped out friends and family wanting nothing in return; he was a lot of different things to a lot of people and everyone loved Russ, and if Russ loved you, you knew it.
