Catherine “Cathy” Lesczynski, of Syracuse, passed away on August 12th, 2023 at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 22, 1934 in Syracuse to the late John and Margaret (Bahaj) Lesczynski. She is a lifelong resident of Syracuse and had attended East Syracuse High School. Cathy retired after 14 years with the Sheraton University and had formerly worked at the Hotel Syracuse for 28 years. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the funeral luncheon team and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed puzzles, traveling, collecting elephants, cheering on the Yankees and SU, and having Sunday dinners with her family where she could visit with her favorite furry friend Stella. Cathy also treasured the time she spent with her numerous friends at St. Joseph's Manor.

She was pre-deceased by her sisters: Anna Perry, Stella Koegel, Mary Tipping, Dorothy LaMontagne, and brothers: Nicholas and Michael Lesczynski.

Left to cherish her memory include her loving nephew Mark (Lisa) LaMontagne; brother-in-law Norman "Joe" LaMontagne; and great-nieces Haleigh, Maria, Olivia, and Mia LaMontagne.

A funeral mass in celebration of Cathy's life will be held at Blessed Sacrament church on Wednesday at 10:30. Friends may greet the family at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home from 9-10 prior to the mass. Interment at St. Mary's Mausoleum to follow at a later date. Contributions may be made to the SPCA.
