N. Darlene Manning, 86, of Liverpool NY died at home May 24. Darlene was born in Salina KS to Irene (Brown) and Gilbert Wagner on May 31, 1936. After raising a large family, Darlene went back to school in her mid-50's to become a nurse. In her 70's, she married the love of her life, Martin F. Manning Jr, with whom she shared many adventures and travels. She could often be found outdoors (whether sitting in her garden or walking at Beaver Lake),  taking a long bath with a mystery novel, or listening to a diverse playlist, from modern jazz to the Pentatonix. Even in hard times, she never stopped smiling, laughing, and being there for others. Darlene is survived by her children, Cathrine (Keith) Barnes of Emporia KS, Greg (Debra Motes) Alton of Troy AL, Mark (Tracy) Alton of Dunedin FL, John Alton of Liverpool NY, Heather (Tim) Dibble of Delaware AR, and Aaron (Lily Valentin) Miner of the Bronx NY; numerous  stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; and her canine "baby" Buster. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin F. Manning Jr, and her children, Jennifer Levine and Roxanne Alton. Calling hours will be Sun Jun 18 from 4-7 PM at 14 Berrywood Rd, Liverpool NY. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Mon Jun 19 at the Butterfly Garden of HOPE, 6751 Onondaga Lake Pkwy, Liverpool NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shoal Bay Animal Haven, https://shoalbayhaven.weebly.com.
