Please share a memory of Bridget to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bridget Patricia Fitzgerald, “Aunt Patty”, 89, of Lyncourt passed away peacefully after living many years with Alzheimer’s Disease on May 6, 2023. She was born on November 25, 1933 in Syracuse, New York. Aunt Patty attended Blessed Sacrament School and she graduated from St. John’s Catholic Academy. She worked with Daniel J. Murphy and Associates for New York Life Insurance until she was 76 years old. Aunt Patty was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church and a former bingo and luncheon volunteer. She was a devoted daughter, a special sister and an amazing aunt. Aunt Patty was gentle, soft-spoken, caring, independent and always had a beautiful smile and a sweet demeanor. She loved reading, gardening, old movies and baking her famous chocolate chip and holiday cut out cookies. Aunt Patty enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day and it was always a treat for us.  She loved to attend and cheer on all of her nieces and nephews whether it was a sporting event, a musical, a play, a concert, an art show or a dance recital. You could always count on Aunt Patty to be there. She was an avid fan of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football and the Brooklyn Dodgers. Over the years, Aunt Patty traveled to her favorite place, Ireland, to visit all of her special relatives. For Aunt Patty, her loyalty was always with her Catholic faith, her loving family and her Irish heritage.

Aunt Patty was predeceased by her parents Susan Carroll Fitzgerald and Patrick Fitzgerald along with her sisters Rosaline Austin and Eileen Damon Angus.

Aunt Patty was a loving and cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews: Debbie (Tom) Garvey, David (Brenda) Damon, Linda (Walter) Bliss, Donna (Eric) Pahl, Eileen (Mike) McGrath and Michael (Tracey) Damon.  She was a beloved aunt to her 13 great nieces and nephews: Shannon(Randall) Proctor and Meghan Dimon; Dominique Damon; Stephanie(Andrew) Neuman, Lauren and Tyler Bliss; Katie and Rick Kretschmer; Alex, Jeremy and Daniel McGrath; Ryan Damon; and Terry Wanner.  Aunt Patty was a dear aunt to her 4 grand nieces and nephew: Joel Dimon; Allison and Mary Kate Neuman; and Emra Wanner.
