Stephen C. "Chuck " BeGell left this world on April 18, 2023 and you can be assured Heaven gained. He was born March 7, 1926, in Buffalo N.Y., the son of Olivia and Dr. Stephen L. BeGell. Chuck went to Binghamton Central H.S. and the University of Maryland, where he continued his stellar athletic career participating on both the basketball and baseball teams. After college, Chuck earned a tryout as a pitcher with the Brooklyn Dodgers, along side Jackie Robinson. He was a member at Cazenovia Golf Club for years and then a member of Olde Oak. Chuck was both an avid and accomplished golfer, having scored two hole in one's and winning numerous Senior pro-ams. Retired from sales in the business of office supplies, Chuck was pre-deceased by his parents and first wife, Mary Ellen. He is survived by Mary K., his wife of 34 years, sister-in-law, Ann Kuss, nephews, Kevin Kuss, Scott Kuss and nieces Melissa Jordan, Kate Skinner and several great nieces and nephews. Chuck also leaves behind many friends, all of whom he made feel better with his enthusiastic greeting of "hello, pal!" each and every day. There will be no calling hours as per his request. His body was donated to the SUNY Upstate Anatomical Gift Program.
