Dominic V. Fortuno, 82, of Syracuse, died on December 28, 2022 at the Syracuse VA Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1957. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served 4 years in the US Navy. He was a retired Supervisor from Lamson Corporation and later was a Cook at the Park Hill Tavern. Dominic enjoyed golfing, bowling, wood working and spending time with his loving family. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching Jeopardy. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Pulaski Post.
He was pre-deceased by his parents: Dominic and Dorothy Fortuno and his sister Patricia Kelleher.
Dominic is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; daughter Susan (Joseph) Deapo; son Jeffrey (Colleen) Fortuno; grandchildren: Vincent & Olivia Fortuno, Daniela Deapo; and several nieces and nephews.
To honor his life, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home followed by interment in Saint Mary’s Mausoleum. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7PM at the funeral home, 3111 James Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Outreach Program or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
