Richard "Dick" Lee Cooper, Sr., 81 passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, on October 17, 1931 the son of Jesse and Florence McElroy Cooper. He was a veteran of the US Army 26th Infantry. He was retired from Plumbers and Steam fitters Local 267. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Donald Cooper; sister, Virginia Hayes and grandson, Christopher Eberst. Survived by his wife of 57 years Rita Parolin Cooper; daughters: Cynthia Cooper, Laurie (John) Wright, Suzanne (Paul) Eberst, Sandra (Donald) Brush and Kelley Cooper; sons: Richard (Cnora) Cooper, Jr., Patrick (Maureen) Cooper, Mark (Iolanda) Cooper and Martin (Amanda) Cooper; brothers: George (Peggy) Cooper Sr. Of San Diego, CA and Kenneth (Joan) Cooper of Nedrow; 15 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his beloved pets Yankee and Brown Spot. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 10:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 8 from 4-7pm at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to Humane Association of Central New York, Inc, 4915 W Taft Rd, Liverpool, NY 13088
