Obituary of Almeda Yakeley

Almeda Faye Mott Yakeley, 93, passed away on Sunday September 11, 2022 at home, Shaker Pointe, One Bell Tower, Watervliet after a long illness.
Almeda Faye Mott Yakeley was born on February 26,1929 in Massena, NY, the daughter of Robert Joseph and Sarah Lena Mason Mott.
She graduated from Massena High School and attended Syracuse University.
She worked as an executive assistant for an insurance company, television station and later for the NY State Legislature. She was a member of the University Club of Albany, Syracuse University Alumni Association, Albany Museum of History & Art, and the Mohawk River & Colonie Ladies Golf Leagues.
She is pre-deceased by her husband of 30 years, Alan L. Yakeley who died in 1990, brothers Robert W. Mott, Donald J. Mott, Reginald H. Mott, Gary A. Mott and sisters Rowena M. Allen, A. Sharleen Bruse and Beulah G. Pierce.
She is survived by a brother, Lawrence D. Mott of Oneida and sisters Barbara J. Anable of Willimantic, CT and Betty J. Billingsley of Concord, CA, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at the Mount Greene Cemetery in Romulus, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, PO Box 1100, Syracuse, NY 13201-1100 or Special Olympics New York, 504 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY 12304-2290.
