Obituary of Thomas Jude Biel

Thomas Jude Biel, 65, of Syracuse, left this world on Thursday, March 24. He was a geologist and traveled the Earth he loved throughout his career, retiring from the NYS-DEC. Tom was an Eagle Scout and continued serving the scouting community as a Boy Scoutmaster of Troop 27 and a Girl Scout Volunteer. He enjoyed being a member of the Gem and Mineral Society of CNY for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy D Conley; children: Emily Jane (Jeff) Nichols and Benjamin Thomas Biel; sisters: Barbara (Ed) Maxwell, Ruth (Jeff) Smith; grandchildren: Faye Eliza Nichols, Maxwell Edison Nichols; nephews and nieces: along with Rashil Rane, the "son within his heart".
Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.
