Obituary of Patricia Anne Laun

Patricia Anne Laun, 80, of Syracuse and Cape Vincent, passed away on Friday, December 3rd surrounded by her loving family after a brave battle with cancer. She was office manager at EW Edwards until she started her family with her childhood love and late husband of 60 years, H. Thomas Laun. She dedicated the rest of her life being scout leader, librarian, room mother, band chaperone and anything her children and grandchildren needed. She was an Onondaga County Board of Election inspector for over 55 years and past president of the Syracuse Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Patricia was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She and her late husband Thomas bought and restored a stone house on the St. Lawrence river, which became a place cherished by their family and friends to this day. It also became the place of their business where she was the co-proprietor alongside Thomas of the Cape Vincent Flea Market “Little Century” at Millen’s Bay. She is pre-deceased by her husband retired Syracuse Deputy Fire Chief H. Thomas Laun, her son Syracuse Deputy Police Chief Timothy T Laun, her brother Gerald Baker and her parents: Irving J. and Anna Schultz Baker. 
She is survived by her daughters: Linda Laun, Jean (Chris) DeJohn; daughter-in-law Rosemarie Laun; brother: Richard (Joyce) Baker; sister-in-law Laureen Baker; brother-in-law Peter (Sandy) Laun; grandchildren: Marisa (Ryan) Pickard, Rebecca DeJohn, Katrina DeGilormo, Sarah DeJohn and William Thomas Laun; great grandchildren: Colton DeJohn, Baby Pickard on the way and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home on Monday December 6th from 4-7pm.  The funeral mass will be Tuesday at 10am in the Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Her late husband H. Thomas Laun who passed away 4/29/2020 will also be celebrated at this time. At the request of the family, please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deputy Police Chief Timothy T. Laun Scholarship Fund, c/o the Syracuse Fire Department Employees Federal Credit Union, 211 Wilkinson Street, Syracuse 13204.
