Mary “Joan” Hierholzer, 84, of Lyncourt died on November 25, 2021 after a short illness.  Joan was a graduate of Eastwood High School and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Alan; her parents: Charles and Mary Irene Byrne Mengel, her son Jeffrey and infant brother Kevin.
She is survived by her daughters: Susan (Michael) Busco of Liverpool, Karen (John) Donovan of Camillus, John (Kathleen) Hierholzer of Bridgeport; granddaughters: Katie (Sean) McNabb, Christine (Brad) Bennett, Julie (Brandon) Smith, Kelly Donovan, Megan (Ben) Ridley, Allison Macri, and Michael Hierholzer; great-grandchildren: Quinn, Logan, Kinsley, Cole, Addison.
Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 10am in St. John the Baptist Church with burial will to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson funeral home, 3111 James Street.  
Contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Central NY Chapter, PO Box 12226, Syracuse NY 13218 in honor of her husband Alan.
