Obituary of Barbara Jean Knaul

Barbara Jean Knaul, 85, of Liverpool, NY, passed away on November 10 at her home.  She worked at New York Telephone before staying home to raise her children.  She then worked at Byrne Dairy as a store manager for 25 years.  She also volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital gift shop for 25 years.  She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, and a volunteer for the Outreach Program.  In their 60 years of marriage, Barbara and Bill traveled throughout the world. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved their annual week-long vacation in the Adirondacks each summer. She was predeceased by her parents Leo and Mary Cuomo Courcy as well as her brother Jimmy and sisters Margaret and Theresa.  Barbara is survived by her husband William; her son Dan (Meg) of Sudbury, MA; her daughters Kathleen (John) Hierholzer of Bridgeport, NY and Karen (Joe) Lisi of Liverpool, NY; her brothers Leo, John (Joanne), Tommy (Patti), and Bob (Carol) Courcy;  her sisters Mary Crowley, Rose O’Neil, and Dorothy (Guy) Morgan; 8 grandchildren Emily, Hannah, Billy, Allison, Michael, Lindsey (Cody), Melina, and Joey; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday, November 14 from 4-7pm at Blessed Sacrament Church.  The funeral mass will be on Monday at 10:30am in the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
