Obituary of Anthony J. Lis

Anthony J Lis, 87, lifelong resident of Eastwood, passed away peacefully on Monday at the VA Medical Center. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII in Germany and retired from New York Central Railroad. He had also worked as a bus driver for ESM. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Church, a member of the Pulaski Post American Legion and the PRCU. He enjoyed golf and auctions. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony J Lis, Jr. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Carolyn (DeLapp) Lis; sons James, Thomas, David (Rose); daughters Jane (Robert) Palla, JoAnn Barany, Joyce (Bob) Pond, Barbara; sister Catherine Klepacki; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Tuesday at 9 am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 9:30 am in Transfiguration Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. The family would like to thank the staff at the VA Medical Center 8th floor for their caregiving and support.
