Anthony J Lis, 87, lifelong resident of Eastwood, passed away peacefully on Monday at the VA Medical Center. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII in Germany and retired from New York Central Railroad. He had also worked as a bus driver for ESM. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Church, a member of the Pulaski Post American Legion and the PRCU. He enjoyed golf and auctions. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony J Lis, Jr. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Carolyn (DeLapp) Lis; sons James, Thomas, David (Rose); daughters Jane (Robert) Palla, JoAnn Barany, Joyce (Bob) Pond, Barbara; sister Catherine Klepacki; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Tuesday at 9 am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 9:30 am in Transfiguration Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. The family would like to thank the staff at the VA Medical Center 8th floor for their caregiving and support. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY.
