Obituary of Anne L. Martin

Anne L. Martin, 89, of Syracuse, entered into eternal rest at home on Thursday with her family.  She retired from Crouse Hospital after 34 years as a switchboard operator, and previously worked for NY Telephone.   A graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School and a lifetime communicant of the church, Mrs. Martin was a very active and faithful member with church organizations, including Altar Rosary Society, the Happy Roamers, and volunteered with the Friday Fish Dinners.  Anne liked traveling to Florida and vacationing in the Thousand Islands with family.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Robert; parents Walter and Lucille Richardson; her brother, Anthony Richardson; and sons-in-law Rich Scanlon, Bill Eagan and John Murray.
Surviving is her son James of Syracuse; her five daughters Linda Scanlon of Liverpool, Kathleen Eagan of Liverpool, Patricia Murray of Syracuse, Susan (Edward) Spara of Syracuse, Kelly (Tim) Silmser of East Syracuse; Sisters: Eileen Omicinski of Camillus, Mary Clancy of East Syracuse; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her beloved pet companion, Leo who would not leave Anne’s side.
Visitation is Monday, October 25 from 9am – 10:30am, with funeral Mass immediately following at 10:30am at St. Vincent de Paul Church.  Burial will be private at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Church.
