Obituary of Genevieve Mazur

Genevieve "Jenny" (Borys) Mazur, 92, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 25th at Crouse Hospital. Jenny was born in Syracuse, to Stanley and Anna (Mieczkowska) Borys. Upon graduating high school, Jenny worked as an operator for the New York Telephone Co. Jenny was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Devoted to her family and friends, Jenny was a caring soul who loved to have fun and liked to laugh. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant everything to her and brought her such great joy. Jenny is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Leon, her daughter Mary, brothers Chester and Charles Borys, and sisters Harriet Jakubowski and Helen Slifka. She is survived by her sons: Leon T. (Sheila) of Liverpool, Thomas (Valerie) of Riverview, FL, James (Lisa) of Syracuse, Paul (Hildy) of Lexington, MA, a daughter, Nancy (Michael) Lohwater of Rochester; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are on Wednesday, July 7th from 4-7 pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Thursday, July 8th at 10:30 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church.
