Obituary of Patsy J. Caruso

Patsy J. Caruso, 89, of Syracuse, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 26 at his home. He was born in Syracuse on January 23, 1932, the son of the late Biagio and Frances (Costa) Caruso. Patsy served as a Sea Bee with the US Navy. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb as a locksmith. Patsy was a wonderful baker, loved gardening, bowling and dancing. He was a devoted and loving family man, selfless, and hard working with a heart of gold. He was a role model of integrity, character and love who was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Angela (Cifra) Caruso who died in 2015, his sister Lucy Rowe, his brother Peter and brother-in-law John D’Angelo. He was a loving father of Marie, Patricia (Michael) Cultrara, Mark (Julie), Michael and Charles; cherished grandfather of Travis, Christian, Lillian, Danielle, Michelle and J.P.; great grandfather of Lariya, Chrisette, Kaelynn, Olivia; brother of: Santa (John) Andaloro, Mary D’Angelo; and several nieces, nephews and god children. Calling hours will be Friday, January 29 from 11am-1pm in Blessed Sacrament Church with a funeral mass to follow in Church at 1PM. Burial will be private in Assumption Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or the American Heart Association.
