Emily F. (Joyner) Carver 78 of Dewitt, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1 at Francis House, surrounded by her family. She was born in Fayetteville to the late James and Clara (Frost) Joyner in 1942. Emily was predeceased by brothers Jim (Judy) M. Joyner and J. Martin “Marty” Joyner. Emily is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Norman, daughter Rea, son Tom (Denise), grandchildren Clara, Genevieve, Liam and Ben; sisters: Julie Cantonetti, Mary (Rob) Renetta, Theresa (Gary) Markinson; brothers: Bob (Sue) and John (Amy) Joyner and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Emily was a graduate of Eastwood High School. She was passionate about her family, reading, politics, history and trips to the casino.
Family and friends may call from 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James St., Syracuse, NY. Facial coverings are required. There will be a memorial service held in the summer 2021.
Our family would like to thank the staff/caregivers of Francis House who helped care for her and loved her like their own and Hospice of CNY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13208.
