Obituary of James Nojaim

James (Jimmy) Nojaim, a longstanding and well-known member of the Eastwood Community of Syracuse, NY passed suddenly in July 2023 after an accident suffered in his home.
Born in Syracuse on March 24th, many years ago, he was the son of the late George and Rose (née Alafat) Nojaim.
Mr. Nojaim ran a long-standing Eastwood Community grocery store on the corner of South Midler and Glen Cove together with his mother Rose and the rest of his immediate family. He was known for his friendliness and for his many stories. Jimmy loved a good joke and to laugh with friends. He was a kind person who always looked out for others.
Jimmy was a regular at Catholic Masses and volunteered to be an usher at the Blessed Sacrament Church. 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nojaim was predeceased by his sister Katherine Costello, his brother George (late Marlene) Nojaim, and his brother Leo Nojaim. 
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Maryfrances Nojaim (nee Bumbalo); 5 nephews David (Mariana Carbon Posse) Nojaim, Michael (Maria) Nojaim, Timothy (Amy) Nojaim, Mark (Holly Jones) Nojaim, Paul (Kelly) Nojaim and Mary Jo Valenti Nojaim; and 12 grand-nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 10th at 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James St., Syracuse NY 13206.
