Obituary of Earle C. Edwards Jr.

Earle C. Edwards Jr., 80, of East Syracuse, died on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  He was a US Air Force veteran, and retired from Agway Inc. after a management career spanning over 25+ years.  He was a former president of the New York Propane Gas Association. Earle also volunteered and served on the board of directors of Meals on Wheels Eastern Onondaga County for many years, and was passionate about its mission.  He and his wife enjoyed spending time and entertaining friends and family in the Adirondacks and considered it their second home.

Earle is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia A. (Waltos) Edwards; son, retired US Army Colonel Dennis C. (Nancy) Edwards; granddaughters, Madison (Joseph) Kauffman and Kennedy Edwards; sister, Carol E. Sambora; sister-in-law Joan (Walter) Freeman; and nieces Mary Beth (Douglas) Plourde, Anne (Michael) Ginsberg, Lindsey (Jordan) VonBokern, and Dr. Claire E. Freeman.

A memorial service for Earle will be held at a future date.
