Elizabeth T. Pendergast, 92, passed away on Sunday, July 22.   She was a longtime member of Eastwwod Baptist Church and active with many of the church groups.  She was a native of Virginia, one of 8 children.  She had met her husband on a blind date in Virginia, where she was working at the Pentagon, while he was stationed at Quantico with the Marines.  They were married at the chapel in Arlington.  After the wedding they moved to Albany and then moved to Syracuse, where they resided in Eastwood for the past 63 years.  She was a member of Dewitt Rotary, the Eastwood Home Bureau and a fan of SU sports.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Thomas.   
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Lori Pendergast of Chittenango, David and Peggie Pendergast of Baltimore, MD, Timothy and Leslie Pendergast of South Windsor, CT, and Kevin and Nancy Pendergast of Shoreham, NY; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Amy) Pendergast, Amy (Chris) Brennan, Lindsay (John) Maslak, Kelley Pendergast, Samuel (Karol) Galvagno, Daniel Galvagno, Gregory Pendergast, Taylor (Dean) Accomando, Lia Pendergast, Mackenzie Pendergast, and Kyle Pendergast; great-grandchildren, Tommy, Cooper, and Tanner Pendergast, Owen, Riley & Colin Brennan, Avery & Addison Maslak, Aryanna & Gianna Galvagno; brother Melvin Thacker of Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the staff at the Cottages & the Hearth on James, and especially to the Crouse Hospital ER staff for their kindness.
The funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10am in Eastwood Baptist Church with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street.
