Carman D. Spadter
December 1, 2017

Carman Dianne Spadter, 79, of East Syracuse, passed away Friday with family by her side.
Born in Syracuse November 20, 1938, she was the daughter of her beloved parents, Carmen Falasco and Mary (DiPaulo) Falasco. Carman grew up in Eastwood and was known by all as an independent spirit. She played baseball with the boys, stood strong in the face of adversity, had a sharp wit and sense of humor, and loved her family and friends intensely.
Carman graduated from the Braux Art School of Beauty Culture in Syracuse in 1957 and started her first business soon after. Her loyal customers, male and female, followed her for many years of her career as a beautician.  She was a talented artist and painter, as well as a fabulous cook of Italian foods. Carman loved to feed anyone who came to visit.  She was also an excellent gardener and canner.
Carman was predeceased by her former husband and life-long companion, Dominick ‘Chick’ Spadter, who passed away just a few months before her; as well as her parents and brother, Joseph Falasco.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Calcagino, Carrie (Ron) Gardner and Kristine Robinson; granddaughter Samantha Robinson; grandsons Joseph McCraw and Daniel Mariano; great-granddaughter Lilly Mariano; dear sister, Nellie Quatrone, and brother, Robert Falasco; and several loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James St., Syracuse, NY, 13206.  A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery Green Garden.
