William S. Zych, 93, of Syracuse, died on Wednesday, October 25 at James Square Nursing Home. , After graduating from Eastwood High School, he served in the US Navy for 3 years during WWII.  Mr. Zych retired after 39 years of employment as a machinist at General Electric.  He was married on 7/3/1954 in Sacred Heart Church and was a life-long communicant of Transfiguration Church.  He was pre-deceased by his wife Helen who died on June 26, 2017; parents Walter and Stella Zych; and brothers Matthew and Teddy Zych.
Bill is survived by his son William (Susan) of Syracuse; daughter Janet (John) Henry of Manlius; grandchildren: Renee Zych, Matthew (Kellie) Zych, Breanna (Andrew) Bullard, Kevin & Aubrey Zych, Kelly and Ryan Henry.

Per the request of the deceased there will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at Transfiguration Church. If you want to do something in remembrance of Bill, do a random act of kindness, as Bill was always doing the same. Memorial Contributions may also be made to Transfiguration Church. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.
