Obituary of Donna E. Maycumber

Donna E. Mothorpe Maycumber of Central Square, NY passed away on 23 September 2017.  She was predeceased by her parents Julia and Clinton Mothorpe, her brothers Bruce C. and 
infant Adrean Mothorpe. 
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty six years Gordon W. Maycumber, son David L.,and Donna J. Maycumber, granddaughter Megan E. Maycumber, sister in law Edith Mothorpe, adopted nephew Michael Burke and several nieces and nephews.
Upon graduation from Syracuse Central High School in 1947, she was employed for thirteen years by New York Telephone Company as a long distance telephone operator and in its personnel department.  She retired as an administrative aide in the City of Syracuse Community Development Agency with twenty five years of service. 
After seven moves during their marriage, they settled in the Central Square area.  Her loving full devotion and total support during their marriage was as an unwavering full partner.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, traveling and activities involving family and friends. 
Simple words cannot adequately express the gratitude by her family to the staff of Cottage 60 at The Cottages of Garden Grove, Cicero, NY for their dedicated care during her residency of one and a half years. 
Services will be held Thursday at 11AM at the Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home with internment to follow at Oakwood-Morningside Cemetery, with Pastor Summerville officiating.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 1217 N. Salina Street, Syracuse.
