Obituary of Carol A. Nemier

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and aunt, Carol Ann (Helbock) Nemier, 74. Carol left this world on September 12, 2017, after fighting a long, courageous battle with the debilitating long-term effects of diabetes. We take peace in the knowledge that Carol is no longer suffering and has found her peace in heaven. 
Carol was born to the late Raymond and Margaret (Peg) Helbock. She lived her entire life in Syracuse, graduating from Nottingham High School. Carol worked at Merchants Bank and Samuel Greene, Attorney at Law for several years. Carol was devoted to her family and long-time friends, many of whom she had met in Kindergarten. Carol was a survivor in every sense of the word, including a long battle with breast cancer twenty-five years ago. After beating her cancer, Carol greatly supported many other women who were going through breast cancer with cards, phone calls, and encouraging words. Carol always had a smile on her face and a joke to tell. Her laugh and sense of humor was unsurpassed.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband Paul; sons, Scott (Judi Markee) and Kurt; grandchildren, Sarah, Ben (Liz), Jessica, and Ashley Nemier; her sister Ellie (Chuck) Kinne, nephew Pat (Sarah) Kinne, and niece Gretchen (Dave) Fitch.
The phone will ring a little less and for now jokes may not seem as funny, but we rest in the assurance of our faith in God that this separation with our beloved Carol is not permanent, and we look forward to the day when we will all be together again.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home with words of remembrance to be shared at 6:30pm.  Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
