Obituary of Julia Myrtle Masters

Julia Myrtle Masters, 94, formerly of Eastwood, died at her home in North Syracuse on Friday, August 25.  She formerly worked as a nurse assistant for Dr. Kline ENT.  Mrs. Masters was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound, a long time Religious Education teacher, a member of the Legion of Mary, member and past president of the Altar and Rosary Society, a lay Associate with the Order of the Sisters of St. Francis, and a Red Cross volunteer. Along with being in charge of the flowers for the church altar for many years, Mrs. Masters also planted and maintained a section of the exterior garden surrounding Blessed Sacrament Church. She was pre-deceased by her husband Andrew “Andy” Masters.
She is survived by her 2 daughters: Marie Masters Luque of Katy, Texas, Therese Frances Masters of Syracuse; twin brothers: Arthur Damico of Tennessee and Peter Damico of Brewerton; 5 grandchildren: Eric (Kristina) Masters, Douglas and Josh Masters, Joline (Pablo) Luque Rossi, and Jessica Luque; 4 great-grandchildren: Christopher, Cierra, Chyeanne & Susie Masters; Gia Luque Wallace, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are September 9th at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home at 8:30, and 9:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum.  Calling hours are September 8th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 3111 James Street.
