Obituary of Alice J. Freitag

Alice J. Freitag March 19, 2017 Alice J. Freitag, 95, of Syracuse, died on Sunday at Loretto. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, attended Most Holy Rosary and St. Benedict's and a member of the Catholic Golden Agers. She had retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital after 22 years of service. Alice enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, reading, coloring, traveling to the Southern Tier and experiencing new things. She was always caring for others. Her husband John pre-deceased her. Alice is survived by a son Leonard “LJ” (Maria) Freitag; grandchildren: Nicole (Michael) McAllister, and Jennifer (Bill) Wittenberg; great-grandchildren: Giana, Ava McAllister, Taylor, and Jesse James Pych; sisters-in-law Elsie Kowalski, Helen Rohloff, and several nieces and nephews. Alice also had made a lot of special friends in the Corning area when she was staying with her son. The funeral mass will be Saturday at 10am in Most Holy Rosary Parish. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 9-10am before the mass in the church, 111 Roberts Avenue, Syracuse 13207. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse 13204. Alice’s family would like to thank all of the people that have assisted in her care over the last several years.
