Obituary of Mary G. Brigandi

Mary Brigandi September 2, 2016 Mary Brigandi, 94, of Syracuse, died at her home on Friday. She was born in Ottati, Italy and moved to America at the age of 12. She was a graduate of DeSalles High School in Geneva, NY. She had worked for her father’s shoe store, was a former employee of NY Telephone Co. and the Syracuse City School District. Mrs. Brigandi was also a hairdresser and taught water aerobics. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and volunteered for election day voting polls. She was pre-deceased by parents: Carmine (Carl) & Michelina Guadagno; her daughter Joanne Kammers; a sister Olivia Giardino; and granddaughter Maria Teresa Kammers. She is survived by her husband Joseph W.; sons: Anthony (Frances) of Rochester, Joseph C. (Judy) of Liverpool; grandchildren: Michael (Amy) Kammers of New Jersey, Gina & Julie (Brad Kalpin) Brigandi of Rochester; Patrick, Kristie, Kelly Brigandi of Liverpool; a niece and a nephew. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
