Alfred “Al” T. DePaul April 6, 2016 Alfred “Al” T. DePaul, 96, of Syracuse, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School. Al served from 1942-45 in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He retired in 1981 after 36 years with the State Insurance Fund (Claims Division). He was a member of the CSEA and AFSCME Unions and the American Legion. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas & Agnes DePaul and sisters: Elizabeth “Betty” Secord and Marion “Mimi” Marcely. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Genevieve “Gen” Saturno DePaul; daughter Judith (Robert) Murphy of Syracuse; sons: David (Karen) of Grand Prairie, TX, Jeffrey (Diane) of East Syracuse; brother Thomas (Jean) DePaull of Youngstown, NY; 4 grandsons: Joseph, Nicholas, Daniel, James; a granddaughter Lauryn DePaul; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are Tuesday at 10am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CNY Eye and Tissue Bank.
