Obituary of Dolores M. Rowe

Dolores M. Rowe March 13, 2016 Dolores M. Mulligan Rowe, 89, a lifelong resident of Syracuse, died on Sunday at her daughter’s home in Constantia after a long illness. She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert and she is survived by her children: Marsha A. Rowe of Constantia, Kevin R. (Chris) Rowe of Syracuse, Valerie D. (William) Tompkins of Bronxville, NY; and her grandchildren: Trevor M. Tompkins, and Justine A. Tompkins. Dolores spent her life as a loving wife and devoted mother and a provider of affectionate care to both of her parents in their later years. She was known for her love of laughter, her boundless generosity and unfaltering kindness towards others. There was nothing she enjoyed more than the company of her family. She was a wonderful cook and whenever there were family gatherings she always made everyone’s favorites. She enjoyed travelling, often to see theater in New York, the reading of a good biography, she raised several Boston Terriers over the years and she loved all music including her favorite, Tony Bennett. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the Altar &Rosary Society and former PTA President for Huntington Elementary School and member of the Eastwood Junior High PTA. To be loved by Dolores or to even to be in her company was and is, very special, and all that knew her will sorely miss her. Private funeral services were held on Wednesday.
