So sorry to hear about his passing. He was always a pillar of our church and a wonderful friend of all of ours, especially our mom. He was one of our favorite Sunday School teachers. May the Good Lord comfort you and take solace in the fact that he will always be fondly remembered.

Dear Joan, Ron, Nancy and David,
I am sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I always had a great affection for him, and I was always happy to see him smile and meet me for a hug when I was in town. He was my Sunday School teacher when I was a teen, and volunteering to take on that age group was no small commitment. I admired him very much for his dedication to ministries that made a difference. (I also liked his laugh and that he played pinochle.)
I will be thinking of you all on Tuesday, and wish I could be there in person.
Love, Kathy

I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to calling hours. I saw your Dad several times during his hospital visits. He was always upbeat and talkative. I feel so lucky that we had the strong church group when we were young. I have such great memories of all of you. Take care and keep smiling. Andrea

Dear Don,
I am so sorry to have lost you - as are so many with whom you shared your opinions, passions and faith. Somehow your job as postmaster speaks to me tonight, not only about your career but your spiritual identity - connecting people, sharing ideas, stalwart in responsibility- not letting obstacles defeat delivery -getting the word out popular or not - sometimes surprising - faithfully serving your God - loving family and church family and friends.
But I am happy for you released from all the pain you bore and reunited with your beloved Jane and Thomas. I am sure everyone you sit down with at the heavenly banquet table is enjoying your wit and humor. So save me a spot, please. In relation to eternity it won't be too long before all of us who miss you will be there with you.

I enjoyed getting to know Don this past year. I will forever treasure his good sense of humor and commitment to independence. He reminded me during every conversation how important it is to love your family and preserve tradition. I feel greatful to have know him. I spent some time "whispering in his ear"about how important staying active is to preserve his independence but he gave me a lifetime of "whispering" about how important it is to preserve family memories and tradition. I am thinking of all of you as you grieve the loss of a great man.
