I have 35 years of memories of Betty. I was one of the first people hired for the adult program before it became Oswego Industries. Knowing her and working for her were a pleasure and an inspiration. She made a world of difference in the lives of the disabled in Oswego County and in the staff that worked for her. She will be remembered and missed by me and many many others.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to Klaus and his family and also to Betty's
Sister -law Bette Fowler and all her children. I feel very fortunate to have known Betty and her 2 brothers since 2007.I cherish my time together with Betty Baasch ,her brother Bill and his wife Bette and her brother Jack.Jack and I went to Bette and Bill's home in Dundas Ontario. We had a great dinner prepared by Bette and of course we had a great time touring some special places in Canada like Niagra Falls.Betty and her two brothers and Bill's wife, Betty and I spent some winter time in Alabama. We had
a great time enjoying each other by swimming,,walking, playing games and dancing.
You could just see how much they enjoyed being together for this Short time. I enjoyed Betty's happy and hearty laugh. These last 4 yrs have been very difficult for Klaus and Betty. She was indeed a great lady! She put her whole heart and soul into being concerned for the handicapped individuals. She was indeed a great lady and you could see how much she enjoyed her work and her family. She loved her grand children very much. These last 4 years have been difficult to see such a brilliant and enthusiastic person lose all that enthusiasm! May you now rest in peace. You will be with us in spirit forever. I am sure you are now enjoying a reunion with your sister Mary and your parents. All of you are singing Christmas Carols and playing a great game of Scrabble!!
You have been an inspiration to us all now and ,also for the future to come,
Love, Betty Mazzoline!!

I remember Betty fondly.. When I started working at Oswego Industries in 1994 she was the Executive Director..all would be greeted as she came down the corridors with her great sense of humor and generous smile, always a kind word of encouragement. She had a way of impressing everyone without meaning to...I wish her well on her journey...May God Bless her and her family

As a Dental Hygienist I had the privilege of knowing "Betty" as one of my favorite people. She was a joyous person always "up". She had a wonderful smile and kindness was one of her greatest gifts. She and I celebrated retirement the same year and I am sorry she did not have more time with her devoted husband.

Betty was a strong, passionate, and vibrant woman who taught me much about life. She and Klaus were so welcoming and warm to me as neighbors and friends. Betty taught me to think critically about the world around me, to be patient, and above all to show love and kindness every day. (Also, where to hide the cookies until after dinner!) I have many happy memories spending time in the garden and the kitchen with Betty and their dog Woody. We would craft and cook together, and they shared in personal and academic triumphs as if they were their own. Spending time with Betty was my solace as a child.
It is a privilege to know and love Klaus & Betty. Betty, be at peace and know that you bettered each and every life you touched with your kind spirit.

For Betty's family,
Thank you for sharing such an amazing woman. My dad, Richard, worked with Betty for many years. My dad thought the world of her. She was instrumental in getting my dad back in the field after years away. She was never just his boss, she was his mentor and most importantly, his friend. You have my deepest sympathies for your loss and I hope you know how many lives this wonderful woman touched. God speed, Betty.
