Obituary of John F. Heffron Jr.

John “Jack” F. Heffron, Jr., 90, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was a graduate of St. Anthony’s Catholic School, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. After returning, he worked for more than 40 years for the New York Central Railroad and for Conrail. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Eastwood. He was predeceased by his sisters; Dorothy , Ruth, Elizabeth, and Sr. Mary Regis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Florence (Bartella) Heffron; his daughter Marie Heffron of Chittenango; his son Gregory (Lijuan) Heffron of Newton, MA; and grandson Kevin Heffron also of Newton, MA; his sister Louise Heffron of Clearwater, FL; his brother Paul Heffron of Marietta, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Eastwood at 12:00pm. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Francis House.
