Janet A. Roshia, 79, died at Loretto Health and Rehab Center on August 19, 2026. Janet was born on December 14, 1946 to Arthur H. and Laura C. Spaulding in Malden, MA. She graduated from Henninger High School in Syracuse, NY and from Kent State University in Ohio. She married Gerald F. Roshia of North Syracuse, and had 1 child, Ralph Roshia of Syracuse. She was a Reading Aide in the Syracuse School System for many years. She wrote poetry about local and family events, and was an avid SU, Giants and Yankee fan.

She was predeceased by her brother, Dana H. Spaulding and her parents. She is survived by her sister, Rev. Elizabeth H. Spaulding of Syracuse; brother, Dr. Stephen A. Spaulding of Scarborough, ME; and son, Ralph Roshia, of Syracuse.

Calling hours will be 4-6 pm on Monday, August 24, at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home in Eastwood. Funeral mass will be at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Syracuse at 10am on Tuesday, August 25th. Burial will follow the funeral at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dewitt.
