Katherine Teresa Trach, 82, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. Katherine was born on January 3, 1944 to William and Frances Trach. She worked as an LPN at The Hearth in Syracuse. Katherine was more than an aunt, but no one embodied that role more. She had a quiet kindness that made everyone feel seen, cared for, and unconditionally loved. Katherine’s compassion and warmth will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Lucia, and 22 nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers: John, William and Walter Trach and her sisters: Harriette Bonfe and Susan Mendoza.

A funeral mass will be on Monday, August 10 at 11:00am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.  Friends may greet the family from 10:30-11 in church before mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Stroke Association or to the ASPCA.
