Lynn L. Recore, Jr., 71, of Syracuse, passed away on July 27, 2026.

Lynn was at Grant Village 6 years before moving on to James Square. He really enjoyed working under Mr. Lefler, Mr. Mancini, Mark Squires, Roger Gouchet, and Bill Mathers. After retiring from Bishop he briefly had a job at Price Chopper. Lynn was well-known at James Square for his courtesy, kindness and humor. Lynn was most proud of his conversion to Catholicism, his 39+ years at James Square, and reaching his goal of being married 50 years. Lynn truly loved his family and friends. He liked his many pets and sharing stories of their antics. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, pulling pranks, and telling jokes. He was beloved and will be missed although he wouldn’t believe that.

He is predeceased by parents, Lynn and Mable, brother Marty, and sister Christine. He is survived by wife, Mary Recore (Neugent); children, James (Carrie Spack) and Amy (Joe) Matteson; brothers: Thomas, Peter, and Frank (Bonnie); sister, Pauline D’Eredita; brother-in-laws, David Jacobs, Basil (Angelique) and Eric (Michelle) Neugent; sister-in-law, Cheryl; daughter-in-law, Alina Recore; grandchildren: Tiffany, James Jr., Tyler, Dakota, and Andrew Recore, Adriana Matteson, Nora and Tessa Carr; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Killian, Sebastian, Amelia and Gabriel; one uncle, Frank Martin; extra brother, Tony Marnell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on August 4 from 5-7pm at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home in Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on August 5 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church.
