Betty E. (Trotter) Mohr, of Nokomis, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at the age of 102.

She was born on February 18, 1924, in Ogdensburg, New York, to Frank and Pearl (Myers) Trotter.

After graduating from Ogdensburg Free Academy, Betty began her career in the printing industry as a Linotype operator at The Journal in Ogdensburg, then moving to the Syracuse Newspapers. While working at Dix Typesetting Company, she met her future husband, Justin. Together they built both a family and a business with Eastwood Litho, Inc., where Betty served as the company's vice president.

Betty was a devoted member of Eastwood Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, and board member of the Greater East Syracuse Day Care Board. In addition, she was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi. In her leisure time, Betty enjoyed reading, crafting, camping, and traveling in their RV.

After retiring to Nokomis, Florida, Betty became a vibrant and active member of the Kings Gate Club community. Known for her thoughtfulness and generosity, she was always finding ways to brighten someone's day with a handwritten card or a homemade treat. She will also be fondly remembered as a formidable competitor in the women's billiards league, where she earned a reputation as a true pool shark.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Justin, and their infant son, Matthew Scott. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Heron (Kat Henson) of Portland, Oregon; three sons, Mark J. (Tina) of Redwood, New York, and Nokomis, Florida; Patrick H. (Lilian) of Sandy Pond, New York, and Nokomis, Florida; and Andrew F. (Jessica) of Memphis, New York. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Luke (Arushi), Matthew, and Scott Mohr; Mallory (Dan) Ziegler,  Ross (Alexandria Dodge) Mohr; Keegan (Kriddie) and Cameron Heron; three great-grandchildren, Alexa and Olivia Ziegler and Oscar Heron; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Her children and grandchildren will always cherish their memories of Betty performing her "Tiki Dance” around the campfire.

Calling hours will be held on August 3 from 10 to 12noon at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. A memorial service celebrating Betty's life will also be held at Kings Gate Club in Nokomis, Florida, at a later date.
