Joan M. Snyder, 94, a former resident of Eastwood, passed away with her family by her side on May 15, 2026 in North Carolina.  She graduated from Assumption High School in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart John "Jack" Snyder in 1952.  

Joan was the Assistant Secretary at Fair City Savings & Loan Association and she retired from First Federal S & L, where she was Assistant Branch Manager. She was admired for her dedication, integrity, and reliability. She was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, was involved with the Outreach Program and served as a Eucharistic Minister.

A true nurturer and caregiver, Joan (Gram/Mimi) will be remembered for her gentle, kind, and compassionate ways. She touched the lives of all who knew her and left a permanent mark on each of their hearts. She enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, crocheting, shopping, playing cards, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. But more than anything she loved dancing with her beloved husband of 72 years, Jack, the love of her life.

Joan was pre-deceased by her husband John; parents Carl and Johanna Shepardson; son Michael Snyder; and brothers: G. James Shepardson and Thomas Shepardson. She is survived by her loving daughters: Linda (Chester) Wysocki, Lori (Thomas) Ward; grandchildren: Jason Wysocki, Kristen McConaughey, Matthew Wysocki, Stephanie Edwards, Kaitlin Howard, Colleen Fleming; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 6 at 9 am in Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held Friday, June 5 from 5-7 pm at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.
