Robert V. Costello Obituary
Robert V. Costello, 82, of Syracuse, died on Thursday at Crouse Hospital. Bob retired after 40 years with Onondaga County, was an advisor for 30 years to the Boys Scouts Explorer Post, was a member of the CSEA and a communicant of St. James Church. He was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Helen Lynette Costello in 2025; brothers, Thomas and John; parents, Thomas J. and Emily T. (Blake) Costello. His family includes brothers, James (Vera) and Francis “Red” (Mary Jane) Costello; cousin-in-law, Kathi (Ron) Joslyn; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 10-11am prior to services. Contributions may be made to the Francis House. Condolences at shepardsonfh.com.
