Robert ‘Bob’ Sellin of Lyncourt, born in Syracuse, New York, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 at the age of 94. He was a proud grandfather, beloved uncle, and a lovingly supportive father.
Sellin was a carpenter in the 841st Engineer Aviation Battalion, and a decorated veteran of the Korean War.
Bob married his wife Lois Moran in 1956. With their daughter Mary Lou, the family settled in a Lyncourt home that he built by hand. He enjoyed a lifelong career with Niagara Mohawk as Assistant Superintendent of Gas Control. He was a devout member and usher for St. Daniel Catholic Church and member of The Knights of St. John.
Bob shared a family passion for bowling, golf, and hunting on family land in the Adirondacks. He took his 1940 Pontiac Silver Streak to many classic car shows. He was an eternal tinkerer, handyman, and even an artist in his last years of life.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Louise, father Leonard, stepmother Kathryn and his wife Lois. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his brother Leonard Sellin, daughter Mary Lou (Jim) Clark, grandson Brendon (Sophie) Clark, granddaughter Allison Clark, 1 granddog and 5 great-granddogs.
The family would like to thank the medical staff of the ED & 6N Crouse Hospital, the staff at PACE CNY, and his personal care assistant, Mackenzie Keenan for their loving care.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 9:30am in ST. Daniel’s Church with burial will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lyncourt Volunteer Fire Department.
