Roland L. Barry Obituary

Roland “Red” Barry, 90 of Eastwood, died on January 24, 2026 surrounded by his family.  He graduated from Blessed Sacrament and Eastwood High School.  Red was employed at Marine Midland Bank and was an assistant secretary for 21 years and worked at the Lamson Corp. for 12 years.  He played softball and umpired for 25 years.  He also worked at the Carrier Dome as an usher for 24 years alongside his wife Janice.

He is pre-deceased by his parents Worthington and Evelyn Durand Barry; his daughter Barbara Barry; brothers: Bernard “Bud” and Richard and sister Jackie Peterson.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Janice; son Joseph (Kelley); daughters: Kathleen (Eric) Brock, Michelle (Dan) Reilly; grandchildren: Melissa, Samantha and Amanda Barry, Jessica, Anthony, and Alison DeStefano; great grandson Weston.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 1st from 2-5pm at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30am, in Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church.
