Gloria Ann Corcoran, 86, of Syracuse, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness.
Gloria was born in Syracuse, to Elvira and Emanuel Ribas. She was a graduate of Central High School in Syracuse and later married the love of her life, Philip Corcoran, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.
Gloria was an avid reader and enjoyed word-find puzzles, crocheting, and frequent trips to the casino. She cherished the company of her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many beloved pets. Gloria was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, now known as Our Lady of Hope Church, where she was actively involved in the Altar Rosary Society and served as a CYO counselor for many years.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents; all of her siblings; her beloved husband, Philip Corcoran; and a grandchild, Philip T. Corcoran. She is survived by her children: Teresa Chrisman (Billy) of Virginia, Kathleen Brandt, and Philip Corcoran Jr. (Victoria). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Daniel Corcoran, Christopher Corcoran, Justin Corcoran, Erin Corcoran (Steven Carpenter), Maximus Carpenter, Thomas Corcoran, Kayla Tarolli (Dalton), Nicole Brandt (Brian Leuthauser), and Matthew Gregus (Paola), as well as her three great-grandchildren: Addilynn Corcoran, Leo and Luna Tarolli.
Gloria’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her friends, extended family, and healthcare providers who offered love, support, and care throughout her illness.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 13 at 10:30am in Our Lady of Hope Church.
