Jean Gildemeyer Shaw, 94, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2025. A lifelong parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, Jean was dedicated to her faith, family and church.

Nani’s greatest pleasure was her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean was predeceased by her son Robert Gildemeyer; granddaughter Ann Marie; former husbands: Harold Gildemeyer and Donald Shaw.

Survived by her sisters: Dorothy McVey and Barbara Burke; daughter, Mary Beth and Jack Clare; son, Mark and Lauri Gildemeyer; granddaughters: Jean Marie (Brad), Kimberly (Pete), and Michaela; grandsons: Christopher, Robert (Marcy), Jeffrey (Lauren), John, Haile (Tena), and her eight cherished great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei/St Peter Church, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
